Design Ideology
I am driven by designing products that are practical, useful, and improve the experience of those who use them. I enjoy creating gear for camping, disc golf, shooting sports, and also furniture. My design focuses on minimizing errors and helping people enjoy their hobbies more easily. I have already developed skills in woodworking, milling, lathe work, sewing, sketching, and digital tools like SolidWorks, Rhino, and Adobe. I enjoy experimenting with materials and mechanics to solve problems. I particularly enjoy the physical side of the design process, prototyping and testing.
Through the OPDD program, I hope to increase all of the skills I already have, as well as learn how to make a product fully come to life in the market. I want to learn how to source materials and manufacturing. I also hope to gain experience in working with top tier businesses to design products in a professional setting. I hope to gain the experience and skills necessary to eventually launch my own products as an entrepreneur.
